June 11: Trinity Sunday Potluck Reception after Solemn Mass

June 11, 2017 – Solemn Mass of Thanksgiving –– Fr. Caleb Kick

Sunday, June 11, 2017 • 3:30 PM

Saint Mary Cathedral, Austin, Texas

Celebrant: Fr. Caleb Kick, FSSP

Please join the Saint Joseph Latin Mass Society at Saint Mary Cathedral for a very special event: Mass of Thanksgiving offered by Fr. Caleb Kick, in celebration of his recent ordination.

Who?

Caleb Kick, FSSP, will be ordained in Lincoln, Nebraska, on May 26, 2017. Rev. Mr. Kick was an altar server for years at the Latin Mass at Saint Mary Cathedral before he went to seminary for the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter (FSSP).

Fr. Michael Stinson, FSSP, who also attended the Latin Mass at Saint Mary Cathedral, will be his deacon, and they will be accompanied by a seminarian who will serve as subdeacon.

What?

A Solemn Mass is the full ceremonial rite of the Extraordinary Form of the Mass. A priest is accompanied by a deacon and a subdeacon, most parts are sung, and incense is used. To put it succinctly, it’s the Latin Mass with all the “smells and bells.” A truly transcendent experience of Heaven on Earth.

A newly ordained priest may say First Masses, and all those in attendance at a First Mass may obtain a plenary indulgence under the normal conditions.

When?

The Mass will be held at 3:30 PM on June 11, 2017, with reception to follow in the Bishops Hall.

Fr. Kick will provide First Blessings during the reception.
